Every Bag Supports a Better Future for Coffee

For every 1 kg of green coffee from a hybrid variety you purchase from us,
we donate €0.20 to Advance.Coffee
funding the Hybrida Project, our long-term initiative to develop resilient, high-quality coffee plants for farmers facing disease, drought, and climate change.

🎯 Where Your Support Goes

Your purchase helps fund:

  • Breeding new hybrid varieties with top-tier cup quality

  • Research on disease resistance and drought tolerance

  • Field trials with partner farmers across multiple regions

Hybrida Project: Supporting Farmers Through Better Coffee Plants

Farmers need support. The specialty coffee market demands exceptional varieties like Geisha and Pacamara—renowned for their flavor but challenging to cultivate. These Arabica types have low yields, are highly sensitive to disease, and struggle under the pressures of climate change. Arabica is a vulnerable species.

Our solution: develop and distribute high-quality hybrids that empower farmers, not burden them.

We're partnering with the International Center for the Advancement of Coffee (advance.coffee) to breed new hybrid varieties that combine exceptional cup quality with resilience and productivity. Our breeding work is guided by five clear goals:

  1. Exceptional Cup Quality
Hybrids must match or exceed the flavor standards of high-quality Arabicas. No compromise.

  2. High Yield
More cherries per tree, more coffee per hectare—helping farmers improve profitability.

  3. Disease Resistance
Especially resistance to leaf rust, one of the most destructive threats to coffee crops.

  4. Drought Tolerance
With rainfall becoming less predictable, our hybrids must thrive under water stress.

  5. Agroforestry Compatibility
We prioritize coffees that flourish under shade trees in biodiverse systems—not full-sun monocultures.

By aligning scientific innovation with farmer needs and ecological principles, we aim to secure a future where great coffee grows in harmony with people and the planet.

Or a shorter version:

Better Coffee Plants. For Farmers. For the Future.

The specialty coffee world demands exceptional varieties—Geisha, Pacamara, SL28—but these come at a cost.
They’re hard to grow, low yielding, and vulnerable to disease and climate change.
Arabica is fragile. Farmers bear the risk.

Our solution: high-performing hybrids that don’t compromise on cup quality.

We’re working with the International Center for the Advancement of Coffee (advance.coffee) to develop next-generation coffee varieties—designed for flavor, resilience, and sustainability.

Our 5 Core Breeding Goals

🟤 High Cup Quality
Must meet or exceed the flavor of top-tier Arabicas.
No compromise.

🟤 High Yield
More cherries per tree, more coffee per hectare.
Better income for farmers.

🟤 Disease Resistance
Especially against leaf rust (CLR)—a major threat worldwide.

🟤 Drought Tolerance
Climate is changing. Our hybrids adapt to low and erratic rainfall.

🟤 Agroforestry Adapted
Grows well under shade trees, not just in full-sun monocultures.
Supports biodiversity and long-term soil health.

We believe the future of great coffee starts with better plants—designed for the real world.
